This year has been difficult to juggle having work, study days and further study of essays and computer conferences for university, as well as a 'social life'. I have learnt throughout this year that it is vital to work along side nurses. In my experience, the nurses have supported and guided me through this year. They have shared their experiences from certain situations that they have been involved in. The nurses in both unit 1 and unit 4 have been a great help with answering questions that i was unsure about and giving me that further information that i required. I have worked within my scope of pratice in a safe manner, respecting my patients dignity.
At the beginning of my first rotation, i was afraid to speak up. I can safely say that i have confidence in myself as a nurse. I am able to work within a mulitdisciplinary team and share my thoughts to help with the care of the patient. My communication skills have strengthened as i am capable to speak with family members regarding their loved ones care and pass on any questions they have for the treating team.
